The International Vision Zero Africa Conference (IVZAC) is Africa’s premier platform dedicated to the prevention of occupational injuries and the promotion of safety and health at work. Since its inception, the Conference has evolved into an internationally recognized forum where thought leaders, practitioners, and professionals come together to exchange ideas, share best practices, explore research insights, and develop practical solutions to pressing occupational safety and health (OSH) challenges.
The 2025 edition of the Conference will be held under the theme:
“From Commitment to Action: Realising Vision Zero in Africa.”
This theme underscores the urgent need to transition from pledges and policies to concrete, measurable actions that ensure safer workplaces across the continent.
The International Social Security Association (ISSA), through its Construction and Mining Sections, has been a key supporter of the International Vision Zero Network (IVZN) since its establishment in 2018. ISSA believes that social security institutions play a vital role in fostering a culture of prevention by supporting mechanisms that reduce workplace injuries and promote well-being for all workers.
